About Marissa Photography

Hi, I'm Marissa Gerrity

I am a young and proud Canadian photographer who loves and appreciates the arts. From a very early age, I always had a passion for photography and videography. I was the kid who would always have a camera in hand. From big family moments to sunlight hitting an object, I was there taking shots of what I saw through the lens of my eyes.

When I was in seventh grade, I began to find my creative self and had a curiosity in visual arts. This is when I started to truly think about photography as my profession. By eleventh grade, I enrolled in my first formal photography course that taught me the fundamentals about lighting,composition, editing, and functions of a DSLR camera. I continued my studies in twelfth grade, gaining hands-on experience and developing skills, which allowed me to further my knowledge in photography.

During that time, I quickly grew as a photographer and became known as someone who helped and guided other students with their creative journey. I photographed school events such as football games for the yearbook, which gave me the experience of working in fast-paced environments. With the support of my teachers and the opportunities I had, I discovered how amazing it is to capture special moments and take unique shots to share with others, and connect with people through the art of photography.

Today, I am a 20-year-old photographer based in London, Ontario, who is continuing to build my portfolio and expand my skills every day. My work focuses on nature photography, cityscape photography, and anything visually interesting that catches my eye. I love exploring new locations, experimenting with composition, and finding creative ways to showcase the world around me.

I capture life's moments whenever I can, whether I’m spending time in the city, walking in a park, or finding new textures. My goal is to keep growing as an artist and pursue photography professionally in London, Ontario, Canada.
